It's that time of year when mad people round here put on skimpy clothes and dash up hill, down dale & through bog and briar on

The Grizzly O_O :ghost:

It's the world's most famous marathon no-one's ever heard of. It has an entry of 2,000 and last year I think it was won by a German.
This year the competitor travelling furthest came from Ethiopia.

The weather was perfect for those of insane mind ... a cold wind and a light rain

Not all the runners were completely human

And sensible 4-legged residents preferred to ignore the whole thing.

Did you take part Teapot? O_O

I've never heard of it either, the folks who take part must be fairly fit for not just 20 miles but the hills and bog too. Wonder if you could get a mini through it? Hehe

I spose I should train for it. People in their 70s have a go. I think it's raised over £200,000 for charity in 18 years.

*Oops* There were 1400 runners, not 2,000, and the distance is about 19 miles, so it isn't a marathon. There were 1379 finishers and the winning time this year, by a guy from Torbay, was 2:24:34. There are actually two bogs in the Grizzly: Bog and Son of Bog.

My friend was doing St Johns work for the Grizzly today.
I should really go and watch it one day.
