Hey, another problem.
I tried going ahead with sticking my manifold and carb on today but the fixing kit I got came with flat washers. I remember it should have stepped washers but thought maybe they bend to shape or whatever. Once on the third one a stud snapped due to it bending to the left. Now thats out and Im stuck with no way of fixing my manifold and carb to my cylinder head.
The washers which were removed from my old engine dont have a big enough step to create a seal. Where can I purchase stepped washers from, and why did this kit not have stepped washers?

You can't. Kits don't come with stepped washers. The original parts are designed to hold original manifolds to the car and original manifolds are properly designed so they have the same thickness flanges and a stepped washer isn't needed. A well developed Stage 1 kit will also have similar size flanges. If you want stepped washers you will have to create the step yourself, either by grinding the washers you have (don't go too thin, they are thick for a reason) or by welding half washers onto them. A better option would be to match the flange thickness on each manifold by grinding the thicker one down to the right size. Again don't go too thin, a combination of grinding flanges and stepped washers may be needed if there is a really big difference. The washers will take up a small difference no problem so it doesn't need to be exact.
