As per title really...

...Just got a full set of spax adjustables (the yellow ones with the screw adjust at the bottom) and it tells me to adjust fully anti-clockwise to their softest setting, then adjust in notches of 4 until desired dempening is achieved. Rather than messing around, was just wondering what people have theirs set at?

Ive turned them 2 complete turns on the adjustment screws clockwise from their softest setting, so should be pretty stiff.

cheers
Neil

I've got mine set at something like 4 clicks on the front and 8 clicks on the rear. It handles very nicely and the ride seems fine and acceptable too.

Mind you my Spax adjustable dampers have been on there for almost 12 years now though.

Whats it like at the lowest setting (ie over speed bumps) as i think mine is set somewhere in the middle and its awful over bumps. Havnt set it since i bought it though.

I haven't had them set on their lowest settings for years, but I can remember that I found them too soft and bouncy. The handling was also a bit ropey on the softest settings too if I remember right.

I assume its another "try it and see" situation then?

Just crank them up gradually and see how you get on. If the ride becomes too choppy, then turn them back down slightly again.

From the softest setting, I use 4 clicks front and 2 click back for road use, and 8 clicks front and 4 clicks back for trackdays.

I took these settings from one of the Mini magazines ages ago and the advice for Spax was to go double on the front compared to the rear.

i've gotten myself a pair of standard adjustables and am wondering if anyone cud offer some kind advice plse?

- Do i have it dry fitted and then start turning the knobs on the shocks or have them done prior to fitting it into the car?

Mine is of the Spax Krypton by minispares.

Many thanks

there adjustable on the car provided you can reache the knobs, but if there anything like mine and the rest of them on here then you can adjust them on car, mine are on the softest setting too, which isnt that soft really, i may change them for some softer ones at some point, but they've not been on long so i'll give em a month or two to bed in.
