Hey everyone

Im changing my lambda sensor so need to remove the inlet manifold to get to it, is it worth changing the manifold to a better alloy manifold whilst i have it off. likewise with the exhaust manifold. Will it make any difference to performance or is it not worth the money and hastle?

Cheers
Dave

Im not sure if "just" the manifold will give extra performance, but a new one may be a good idea if the current one is looking rusty.
Good luck getting the lambda sensor out, I had mine in a vice and it squashed the sensor while twisting it. £100 for a new one :D

Edit : What do you want to change, inlet manifold or exhaust manifold? lambda sensor in the exhaust manifold

If you are talking inlet manifold I would not have thought that would be a good idea at all. The inlet manifold on the injections has heaters and temp sensors in it. I have had a good look at mine and I see that it has some flow disturbance features just where it meets up with the head. Whilst these look as though they would restrict airflow they must have been incorporated for good reason. I would have thought that unless you have lots and lots of money and want to wring every last horsey out of your engine you shoold leave the inlet manifold alone. I do remember seeing that somebody does an improved injection manifold which is supposed to give about 10% more (flow or hp I can't remember) but it was about £250!! There again it may have been an injection unit - can't quite recall.

Steve.
