Right:
During my engine build (project thread to come tomorrow with pics) i thought about changing the core plugs. But i cant find how to take them out. I assume you just have to smack them in square with a brass bar or something.
So how do they come out?
Cheers again.

I just started to tap the bottom of mine very gentley with a screw driver until it pivoted along the middle the bottom went in and the top came out then i just pulled it out.
To put it back in i used a short section of an old rake handle which was the perfect diameter a couple of solid taps just make sure it goes in square.

In the good old days you just put a heavy screwdriver through them (or cold chisel) and thend twist/turn them out?
The only article I've seen on the web was on an Austen7 club site - http://www.austin7.org/core_plugs.htm which says exactly that. Puitting them backj in is the tricky bit as it's a case of get it right first time or destroy it getting back out (I'd by a sape one if i was you?).
Some say fit them dry but I think it useful using a bit of Boss White pipe jointing compound? Most of it will be pushed away when you fit the plug but it just gives it a full seal.

You don't re-use them so... as stated above, strike through the center with a cold chisel. Then pry them out.
