Today my spare 998cc engine and front subframe has been stolen from my front garden! probably some pikey scum, so if any parts come up for sale in the West Yorkshire area possibly cheap please will you inform me. I am still trying to get the engine block number from the dvla, as I don't have the V5 anymore since the shell was scrapped.

Not exactly easy to make off with!

I've noticed there are quite a few pikey types going round skip diving 'n helping themselves to anything that half looks like it won't be missed since scrap prices picked up a bit.

theres alot of them doing the rounds at the moment for anything they can get hold of as we deal with a hell of alot of S/S and other various metal materials they keep come knocking,

if they want something they have a way of inching it away but good luck on the search buddy

i would guess your looking for a very big bloke with a bad back with very oily hands

That will have been weighed in for scrap, with general scrap weighing in at over £110 per ton they are taking anything they can

trust me, if pikeys want to steal something they will, even if your around. at work we heard about another branch having 3 pikeys walk in and just taking bundles of copper tube and walking out as if they own the place, when confronted they said "try and stop us then".

scrap copper is near £3k a ton at the moment.

shame about the engine though mate!

You could actually hope it's been knicked to go in a Mini but most likely just destined for a furnace

I need to shift some of my engines so I can put my good one in the garage - let me know if anyone in sheffield is after a metro 1275 or a 998

the heads in my garage, they dint get that, but three guys in a white transit pickup asked me if i was selling it, i said no, and a couple of days later its gone, suspicious, so i informed the police as he left his number ( he also wanted to buy my mini van )

pikeys around here are from smiths scrapyard, and will steal all of your possessions, put em on their heap, and then sell them back to you, genius. lol.

i got a few bits that need ridding of actually... haha
what gits though, they really dont even care. Theyd steal free leaflets if they thought theyd make a few pence.
