hm

Well my confession is I went to a BMW dealer today with a friend to have a look at the BMW Clubman, now I'm not a huge fan of the new bini's but I have to say I actually quite like it.

Agreed its not a mini, but its so funky, the rear doors are great, the interior is really funky, well laid out for a modern car.

I think I might have been quite narrow minded towards these cars, because they are one of the only fun and funky estate cars on the market.

As I said lets not turn this in a bmw witch hunt, but just thought I'd mention it. Oh I still won't be buying one, but they do look fun

nothing wrong with mentioning the new mini  i don't care what purists say, the new mini is a very good modern car, yes it's not a real mini and people should get over it.

so will you be buying one?

Why turn it into an argument. Every one is entitled to the own opinion. I like the Bini Cooper S and if i could afford on I might be tempted to buy one. I agree that they are very different to anything else you can buy. I personally don't like the new clubman but there are cars around that I like that most other people hate, such as the Dodge Caliber.

I agree panel the rear windows and you got a funky works van.

We had a good look around and in at the dealers, they even have a function that turns the engine off at lights or while in traffic and the it restarts when you press the clutch and want to pull away. I can't make my mind up if that would be more annoying than useful

I won't buy one as there are beter cars on the market for the money.

I don't think there is quite as much as lets say a mondeo, but its asmaller in general, its kind of in between a hatch and an estate, I'd say perfect for a family with one kid

I think they look ace from behind... If only they had put a slab on the front.
The doors are a bit silly (side doors)
Other than that they are nice cars.. as with the normal new minis, i wouldn't mind 1 myself (although id sell it and buy a proper mini)

A case of design and style over function, but I saw one at Malvern a couple of weeks back and I actually liked the look of it. Personally I wouldn't buy one though, if I had that much money to spend on a car there would be dozens I'd buy before it.

I think they're quite a groovy little car, having driven a cooper bini, they're also great fun to drive. Something i thought i'd never say!!

I've not seen the clubman in the flesh yet though

Yea the space isnt too bad inside with the rear seats folded down. The cooper s version also sounds amazing much better than the normal cooper s, as it has a longer exhaust, they really pop when you thrash them.

Yeah the sales guy was banging on about that they drive the same as the hatchback, but I doubt it though as the wheel base is further apart, and they weigh more, but as I've not driven one, I'm not sure
