Wouldn't be surprised if it never officially stood for anything.

They also made HL's which was a top end trim spec, I think High Line.

The E could be economy as it has the high compression engine.

Haven't checked my facts so pls don't shoot me, I was always under the impression that HL stood for High Line therefore HLE mean High Line Edition/economy, wheres ANORAK when you need him?

OMG, i go away for a few days and it all starts again :P

you can not possibly have mini city HLE :o

you either have a mini city E or a Mini HLE, the HL was the forerunner of the Mayfair and yes, apparently HL stands for high line and the E stands for the economy model.

how where did i put that brick wall ????, need to bang my head on it again :dontgetit:

Aha, sense at last :o

the city and the HL ran along next to each other, the city became the city E, then back the just city and then on to Mini sprite. the HL became the HLE and then the Mayfair :P

city was base model and HL/HLE/Mayfair was the higher spec model with things like rev counter, opening rear windows and better trim :dontgetit:

no, although it is one of the last HLE's made. they were re-named Mayfair in September 1982, rev counter was introduced in November 1985
