you mean the arch strip im geussing >_< if it has lots of welds id grind them off first, and the strip should stay on by its self. an idea would be to drill holes and screw it on but they wouldbe be adviseable at al because it would go rusty and you would have to replace the sill. but mine came screwed on and the screws rusted in. if you only have plastic sill strips if they fall off they wont be too expensive to replace.
hope this is of any help
regards
jonathan

woahhhhhh woahh woahh, dont go drilling my the sill!
what type of trim is it? it should just stay on if you push it on well enough.... or get the proper 'deluxe' type that has a ridge running down it to help it stay on alot better.

lol i have the ''delux'' one its stays one one side fine but on theother with the welding it falls off i would rather not drill the sills i tryed every tirct i could find heating the trim to make it more flexible and other such things but to no end i know its only a trivial matter the trim but its important because i want lucille (my mini to be perfect)

ok yeah, can you get it all the way on properly or will it not go on 100%? Ive got weld spots along my sill which i should have filed down first, but it still went on with a few whacks. if the welds purtrude on top though, it will show in the trim as it usually kinks into the same shape

ive been told to use a small amount of waxoyl on my seam trims to help prevent corrosion in the future . Can this be applied to this trim as well?

if you just cant get it on all the way, then use a hairdryer to make the trim as soft as you can, and this will help it to clear the welds.

as for waxoyl, theres no reason why not, but itll end up like everywhere haha. i just put a coat of hammerite on my seams before putting the strip on, and used waxoyl inside my sills to stop them rotting out

If it is a massive problem, get a orbital sander, sand the paint down, attach the trim, then paint over the areas around the sill that were sanded. That should definately work.,

I had the one with the three screw holes and tried to fit it with tapping screws but don't want to have to drill a guide hole in the sill it doesn't stay on by itself! Sorry to hijack your thread mate!

yes i advise against it! the pratt who abused the chelsea before drilled my sill and screwed the side strip on.. so my dad had to remove it with a chisel
