Hi
I have a mini with a 1330 cc engine and need some help jetting the weber so that it will run ok to run it in and get me to the roling road.

My engine is the following spec:
1330cc
296 kent cam
head 36 29 ported running 11:1 comp ratio
Aldon Red distributor
3:1 manifold with RC 40
Facet pump

The jetts in my weber are as follows
MAIN 145
AIR CORRECTOR JET 155
IDLE JET 55F8
EMULSION TUBES F16
CHOKES 36
PUMP JET 55

I have started the car with ignition set but the carb spits back at idle.

Could any one help as i have tried to find stuff on the net and always seem to come up with stuff for ford engines that have a choke per cylinder and information is not suitable.

I know it is a bit of a black art but could someone help?

Thanks

Chris Savoury

There are few jetting examples in David Vizards Tuning BLs A-Series book.

45 DCOE for 1275 + modified head + semi race cam + extractor exhaust

Choke 38
Main 165-170
Air Cor 180
Emulsion Tube F2
Pump jet 45
Idle 50F2
Aux Venturi 4.5

Obliviously these won't be spot on for your engine, but it should be safe to run to the r-r if you don't go too mad.

Des Hammill's excellent book on tuning Webers and Dellortos recommends
160 main jets for 36mm chokes,
F16 or F2(richer) Emulsions,
180 air correctors,
45F9 idles
4.5 auxillary venturi,
45 pump jets

The whole point of putting a car on the rolling road is to get the correct settings for carbs, timing etc so no matter what they are at the moment.
