The best thing to do is lower the top bar as much as you can against the dashboard - Your better off removing the steering wheel, lift the bottom legs into the bins then lower it backwards and into place - Its easier said than done.
If it is a cage with a diagonal then its the same process but without the rachet strap and with more swearing and scratching of paint

hi there ,GOOD LOOK with this job i fitted a rear with a fixed diagonal not so long ago i finished up with , steering col , drivers door , seatbelts , seats , n/s 1/4 glass ,intearior mirror ,sun visors, carpets out and undoing dash top rail but didnt remove that i strugled getting it in the rear bins as the roof and head linning are very close , i dont think i would have managed this job with out ratchet straps x2 and lots of swearingHi guys, Im about to test fit my new safety devices cage and I am wondering what the best way of getting it into the back of the car? I have to keep my rear bins as per the rules of the racing. Any advice or guides much appreciated

you might find it alot easyer then if its a bare shell , i wish i had fitted mine before rebuilding the rest of the car and then thinking ' i want a rollcage now , i also put gaffa tape round the mounting points to try and protect against scrathes but found this hard to remove once the cage was in place . GOOD LUCK AND ALL THE BEST !Cheers guys, at the mo the car is just a shell, with absolutely nothing on it. No doors glass, fittings etc, absolutely nothing... I will get some ratchet straps...
