Right im in the process of stripping down my newly bought 1275 engine and ive took off the head and cleaned up the top of the pistons and checked the bores.....

From the looks of things the block has recently been honed as you can still see the machined lines so its got me thinking...has the block been rebored?

The pistons that are currently in are numbers 21962 G8 S04, how do you tell from this if its been rebored?

There is also stamped in the middle of the pistons a small 2 with a B underneath whats this mean?

Ive found out the 21962 are for a compression ratio of 8.1

I was thinking the compression ratio is a little low and ive got a spare set of pistons lay around with new rings fitted the number on these is 20832 L25 with STD (meaning standard i presume?) stamped on but i cant seem to find any information anywhere about these

Any advice/info regarding these pistons will be most helpful

Cheers for that minipac i came across that earlier but doesnt really answer what i need as i dunno how you tell if its been rebored and not got my digital calipers to hand.

Ive tried my other set of pistons in the top of the bore and it seems a fairl snug fit with a slight bit of sideways movement....but i know this isnt a true measure
