i asked jonspeed if his supercharger can be used onto an a series engine and he told me that yes it can be fitted onto it....
a supercharger works the same as a turbo(as in compressed air) and a when fitting a turbo an a+ is needed...why is that? or, is jonspeed correct?!

Now I understand.

The supercharger kit works and mounts differently to the turbo set-up so can be used on any a series engine I believe. But then when you think about it, a turbo could be put onto an A series also ?

send a personal message to ' Stig ' here on the forum - he really knows everything about supercharging mini engines, and has worked closely with Jonspeed in the past.

Either an A-series or an A+ is suitable for supercharging or turbocharging. What is important is that the CR is suitable and all the internal components are up to the job.

Jonspeed are correct in saying that the A series is suitabe as bot A ans A+ will work.

ahhh ic....so it all depends on CR....and is the CR in an a & a+ the same, when it comes to superchargin or turbocharging???

Err, well if you were building an SC or turbocharged engine then you would build it with a specific CR in mind. It dosen't matter if the engine is an A series, the same rule applies to any engine.
