Anyway, cough started to go but then i started getting blocked and popping ears, they weren't painful until last night when i sneezed and got a huge amount of pressure stuck in my left ear. no amount of nose blowing, swallowing or ear wiggling would shift it and it got worse and worse...i couldn't sleep and just thrashed around and pulled my own hair and stuff, at 1am i callled the out of hours GP and was told to take painkillers, drink water and not lay flat.. so i sat in a chair in agony until until 530am when there was a feeling (and noise) like being struck by lightening ( i was nearly sick) i was horrible, the pain died down after that but i have been left completley deaf in my left ear and it crackles painfully when i swallow. i have been able to sleep for about 5 hours this morning but now the deafness is starting to worry me.
How can i best configure my dolby 7.1 system so i can still enjoy Star Wars with one ear?

The crackles in your ear, did/does it happen when you shake your head too? it did to me lol

I used to mildly mock her. Then she did it to me when I couldnt defend myself, and it did actually make a difference.
I know it doesnt really help you, for which I apologise.

Im always blocked and full of phlegm.
Hope you get better soon. Feeling sick and stuff is C**p

Have you been to the Doc's yet?
You should have it looked at. Odds are that the mebrane will fix itself, but you're at risk of more infection at the mo if it has ruptured, so they might want you to have some drops.

Hot drinks are good and some simulated yawning, they open when you swallow

Try 'n lay off blowing yer nose too.

By any chance do you smoke and did you take meds for the chest infection?

I managed to speak to a doctor about 10 mins ago (no appointments till wednesday PM) he said drink water, take nurofen, paracetamol and rest, Most ear aches are caused by viruses and therefore anti-biotics won't help and even if they did, it would take 36-48hours before they started to work.
Just annoyed that i'm deaf and got no balance at the moment.

It's an outer ear infection (tube leading from outer ear to eardrum) which has become inflamed and completley closed up. Painkillers do nothing for it, he has however given me antibiotics.
