
Hole In Water Pump

it doesn't look threaded on mine but it leaks tons
of fluid. i can't find anything anywhere that even
mentions what this hole is for.

Bypass hose or something?
Where abouts is the hole?? it could be bypass, i might have jumped in the deepend a bit with my last reply.. lol

it is a small, about 1/8", hole on the cylinder part of the pump near the fin that leads to the pulley

ok thanksyeah the little tiny one is as sstated above. Its a drain for water leaking past the bearings. If there is loads coming out then io'm afraid your pump needs changing.
just another opportunity to make the compartment look fresh

SIDEBAR: I had a Honda Accord once where I ignored the small amounts of radiator fluid I found on the garage floor. It turns out they were coming through the weep hole. One Christmas eve I was driving to my in-laws house when the pump seized up. It put such a load on the drivebelt for the fan and alternator that it darn near stalled the engine. Fortunately it broke free and I limped the last 2 miles to their house where I spent the afternoon sourcing and replacing parts. Fix your pump now so you aren't similarly surprised.
