does anything go in the hole on the water pump?
it doesn't look threaded on mine but it leaks tons
of fluid. i can't find anything anywhere that even
mentions what this hole is for.

It's there to leak leak water out of the water pump when the seals/bearings have gone...

So you need a new water pump...

I always thought that it was a drain of some sort and if it leaked then you pump was shot as it was leaking water past the bearings.

it is a small, about 1/8", hole on the cylinder part of the pump near the fin that leads to the pulley
hopefully this picture helps

yeah the little tiny one is as sstated above. Its a drain for water leaking past the bearings. If there is loads coming out then io'm afraid your pump needs changing.

You have marked the weep hole. As others stated, it's there to give you an indication when the pump seals have failed. Get a new water pump soon. The bearings won't be long for this world.

SIDEBAR: I had a Honda Accord once where I ignored the small amounts of radiator fluid I found on the garage floor. It turns out they were coming through the weep hole. One Christmas eve I was driving to my in-laws house when the pump seized up. It put such a load on the drivebelt for the fan and alternator that it darn near stalled the engine. Fortunately it broke free and I limped the last 2 miles to their house where I spent the afternoon sourcing and replacing parts. Fix your pump now so you aren't similarly surprised.
