Does anyone know what the colours are for the headunit in a 1989 mk4 escort?

There is a:

Red = live
Yellow = live
Grey and yellow
Brown = earth
Red and white.

I tested them and the red and yellow are the live and ignition live and the brown is an earth i think.

I'd like to be 100% certain what they all are as there are only 3 in my mini

Any help much appreciated.

I can't help you with the colours of the live, but when I put a new radio in my Escort, I bought a Ford - DIN conversion wiring thingie from Hellfrauds. It made fitting the new radio a doddle and it came with a panel to fit the larger hole of the old Ford Radio.

Yea I have, because I refuse to pay £15.99 for a connector, especially from hellfrauds when I can wire it perfectly well without one...

I have already done it because I tested the cables but I was still interested to know what the colours were because there are quite a few and I' not sure why..
