i've got my engine and gearbox split and whilst i'm fitting my new crankshaft to the engine (it arrived today :D ) i've got to fit this centre oil pickup, i've got the two mounting bolts out but i can't get the sieve style thingy out past the lay shaft

i think i can see two more bolts lower down, will it come out then, or am i doing it all wrong???????

help as it's nearly ready to re-fit

thanks charlie

http://www.moss-mini...RESTORATION.pdf

Page 30 The plate isn't labelled but it's drawn, under the locktab 43.

You can also see the slots in the laygear and reverse shafts that it fits in to.

you really ought to find or replace that Haynes so you can take full advantage of having the engine and boxed stripped.

If you read through the guide you will find a picture, the retainer is held in place by a screw and the mainshaft bearing retainer.
