Well thought it about time i started to show my project its a shell with subframes and thats pretty much how it still is it came with carbon bonnet, boot and bumpers which i have sold (Not a big fan and wont fit my retro plans similar to retroracer1380s car i envy that man so much its the perfect car.

Anyway have stripped the bonnet boot and bumpers of and started stipping the front subframe of today

plan is to bare shell it and although the paintwork is very good respray it

not sure what colour yet either old english white with a black roof or cumulous grey with a white roof or yokon grey with a white roof or even polonesian blue with a black roof

still undesided

all the interior has been stripped back has had lightweight doors installed
perspex windows both sides and rear
seat tubes in for a bucket seat
rear arches tubed
rear arches braced
race tank installed
tank apperture filled
bulk head box for a webber (but will be coming out so i can fit a centre speedo if anyone wants it free)
battery box platted over
suspension wise caster / toe brackets on the rear
Kad quadrants
and full set of HiLo's
front it has been rose jointed on all levels

plans are to strip it all down clean and paint components install brakes and engine (dont know what yet fancy supercharged or turbo or even supercharging a k100 see how plans go)

group 2 / 6 arches

cage

and 10" wheels

will try and keep it updated as i go ahead

ps the wheels were just to get it home thing they are going to have to go never seen them befor though Tornado

Where did you get that water bottle?

Looks kind of like a SIGG bottle?

I'm moving my wash bottle from the back to the engine bay, something like that would be awesome!

bought the washer bottle (Aluminium drinks bottle) from tescos £2.50 put a 1" to 1/4" adapter in the top (machined flat so it looks neat) then put a 6mm 1/4" air fitting into the bottom and one in the top then hose to the pump. then two big hose clips around the tank drilled so a bolt can go through at the back to bolt to the inner wing.

will take photos of it if required

cheep as chips though and looks ok

Well finally got round to doing a bit today dropped the front subframe out and took al the brake regulator and pipework off as well as the rack

also taken the doors of (going to sell them as they are a little impractical for road use (on ebay now with all the solid subframe mounts and perspex window kits)

quick rack also off and bootlid

will start cleaning the floor pan up next week and priming it then off with the front end to be replaced with an all steel flip

have been discussing plans for an engine on the forced induction forum supercharge is the way forward but a little different

few more pics to update

Many thanks!

They are very cool - look like the 10" version of the Rover "Pepperpot" - but 1000 times cooler! :)
Wish you all the best with your project - sounds promising.
I always like retro cars - think that's a look which suits a Mini the best! :P

Cheers,
Jan

PS: If you like to sell the wheels - let me know ;-D

a little more today finally got subframes out and glass, although broke front screen (balls) and cut the front of all looks good. alittle surface rust on inner wings and a rusty hole on bulkhead (never seen one rust there) right in middle at bottom

also got a panels off and tank out ready for the build

birthday coming up so misses has agreed to buy me a new front

apanels , wings , front panel, mk1 bonnet, mk 1 bootlid and a pair of sills all the rest looks ok. also replacing scuttle panel as it has been drilled for e-stop and fuel kill

quick question though what do most people use to paint over wire brushed rusty areas have bought a POR-15 chassis kit but would appreiate everyones opinion

also decided on colour Almond green with an old english white roof and a blow through supercharged 1293 to be ready by IMM 2009 hope
