long time no work im afraid, wifes had me working on the house (including spending all the car money on it) anyway although ive not realy got any further i have bought another for spares and probably going to use the remnants for autograss. bought it from a local guy who had tried to sell parts of it but got no real takers. It has a pair of 6month old heritage doors which will come in handy for the main project. also all the brake system will come in handy for refurbing.

if anyone wants any parts drop me a message if its not needed its for sale

few pics just to wet the appetite. also got a week of in a fortnight to work on the mini thank god

Small world!
This was my Race Car a few years back. I sold it with Swiftune 1380 Race Engine, KAD 6 pots on vented disks, MB split rims, a full bolt in cage etc etc
Not sure what you got when you bought it but if you want any history let me know...
Sold the car due to a young family and bought an 2000 MPI which I converted to a Retro Mk1...... Bonnet, boot, lights, 10"wheels, central instruments etc etc etc

Was a nice car a few years back, damn quick as well.

I used to do the odd track day against it, i've added a pic.

The really bad hole that was hacked out in the inner wing was done by me and rob late one evening trying to remove that damn flywheel after the primary gear oil seal expired.

cheers fellas it is a small world, as you can see i bought it as a shell to restore my old 73 import into, majority of it was good but wanted it perfect so i get plenty of years tin worm free from it. i bought it off Aquamini on here as he was only round the corner. managed to take this week off work to get on with floor and sills so should get some photos up this week. didnt come with any of the goodies just front and rear subbys and the carbon bonnet boot. if you have any history that would be great gave me a bunch of reciepts with it. 90% of it has been sold on so that i can fit all the MK3 parts to it would have loved to have seen it when it was racing sounded a bit of a beast. The guy that bought the arches had seen it on the track and was merrily recounting how quick it was.

hope you approve of where it will end up

mk1 look front mk2 rear group 2 race arches 6x10 minilights and hopefully a full blow through supercharger build

thanks for the photos

Well managed to get a bit of time off this week so managed to get the floor pan tacked in and linned up ready for a spot hole filling weldathon. also managed to get the bulkhead and scuttle panel sorted.

asked for quite a bit of advice on here before doing the floor and took it all on board and thanks to those who helped in the bodywork section it went in realy easy, i would say that as the wise said do it with a new healboard while at it, it was so much easier to line up. managed to find jigging drawings on here for it so measured measured and measured a third time before taking in place. its probably streighter now than when it left the factory. also got the sills held on to check alignment see below plus a few pressys from ebay santa.

should get on a bit better now its dark on a night

Andy when you read this can i borrow you spot welder for a couple on days to do the sills

cheers

Well i havent updated this in a while as ive been seconded to house decorating, worst luck. But santa has been busy helping me with engine work.

Posted Image

Turbo Carb and plenum, given in exchange for some welding and some spares. Will be going blow through on the conversion so need this. Also managed to get a full set of ribbed pulleys (crank, waterpump and alternator) for £35 bargain

Posted Image

The bit to make it tick an eaton supercharger of a 2006 cooper s cabrolet (with teflon rotors) only done 13000miles before he stuffed it into wall. will be trying to utilise the intercooler as well if possible see how it fits (if at all)

Posted Image

Will need to modify the exit to suit

Posted Image

does anyone know what this bit is and how i remove it Hmmmmmmm

Posted Image

Does anyone remember that clean garage at the begining oh how things change. will take me 2 days to clear it through and get it clean off wednesday thursday friday though so should be ready for the weekend

hopefully start doing a bit every week now ready for italian job 2011
