OK, took the car to the Rolling Road for setting up last weekend. Didn't run too awfully bad on standard ignition timing with vac advance removed- just had fuelling issues with the carb needle supplied with the kit- NO SURPRISE.
After a new needle, and vac advance installed, timing adjusted to have less total advance, seemed good on the rollers- 110 at the wheels at 6000. Didn't get a graph because there was some issues with the dyno- guy said come back next week for a free pull with a full graph.
During the drive home, didn't seem to pull like it should. In fact, it seemed less lively than before the tweaks on-boost. So, I decided that the fuelling must be correct- the car didn't stumble, and I saw the CO analyzer numbers looked good throughout the rev range- must be the timing. So when I hooked up my timing light the car idles faster then, pull the trigger for the light, and the car stumbles- light off, idles smooth. what the hell????? Maybe an earth issue with the motor, or the alternator? It did it momentarily at the RR, and the guy said it was strange, but it stopped.
Here's another issue- if the car idles for about a minute, fuel starts running out the mouth of the carb, and the engine can't be revved without fouling the plugs. This DID NOT happen at the Rolling Road. In fact the guy said he had a Jonspeed car that kept doing that, and he was impressed that mine didn't. Is it too much fuel pressure/ volume? I don't have a fuel press. regulator, or a guage, and I'm running a Facet silver top.
Any ideas? HELP? I can't seem to even get it running well enough to drive it back to the rolling road...

You seem to have two problems. Fuel running out of the mouth is either too much fuel pressure or a knackered needle valve in the float chamber.
As for the car hesitating with the strobe on, could be a number of things including a faulty strobe.

Spoke to Tony at Jonspeed today- He claims to have the fuel problem with all the supercharged cars with a low front mounted carb- The fuel condenses on the inside of the tube at idle, and tends to run down hill flooding the mouth of the carb. Fix= run idle above 1200 RPM. He also suggested I check which needle was installed at the Rolling Road.
The ignition issue still looms. Now when I hook up the timing light, no change in idle or running, but when the trigger is pulled, IE strobe starts flashing, the idle jumps by about 500 RPM. The unstable idle makes it difficult to set the timing. I have found some loose/ potentially faulty wiring at the coil though. I need to unwrap some electrical tape and I think I will find a bad wire or connector...
