No, the caliper mounting lugs are different.

You sure Jammy? The only difference I am aware of is that the later hubs have a slight step in the 'nose' section of the hub which means orignal 7.5" discs won't fit (but most replacement ones will).

However - MiniWorld has recently stated a couple of times that the S calipers can be used with later discs and drive flanges if the discs are turned down to 7.5". First time I have heard of it and I have never tried it but I find it difficult to believe. If it is the case then conversion to suit 10" wheels is cheaper than thought - especially as 8.4" discs are cheaper than 7.5" even with machining work.

on my car someone had ground the face of the calipers and then put 5mm spacers onthe hubs - seemed ok lol!

(have put new 12" wheels on now)

I have original Cooper S hubs with Metro 4 pots on them with no modifications. I think Dan or somebody suggested there might be a clearance problem with some discs and swivel hubs around the drive flange oil seal if you go from 8.4 to 7.5. You could sort that with an angle grinder if needs be.

Don't you need calipers designed to fit 7.9" disks.... ie cooper S calipers will only take cooper S disks... 7.9's are usually fitted with the alloy 4 pots designed for the purpose..

and yes the calipers will bolt straight onto the hub whether coopers, 4 pots or metro ( metro's need ERA turbo bolts as the hole is metric not imperial )

just buy the cooper s setup from minispares, it comprises : discs, pads, flanges and calipers. its £250

i spoke to minispares about this as i have a set of banded s wheels and these are the only brakes that will fit. the set up is a direct conversion from 8.4's.
