I've not go too much knowledge on paint as im about to do my first spray job too. If you are spraying the whole mini, then the paint shop might not want to give you that many litres of cellulose as its being phased out. (damaging to the environment apparently!). Celly is safer for the sprayer and just an ordinary filter mask will be fine for this.

2k will give you a more durable paint finish, however, it is highly toxic and can kill you, so a proper air fed resirator is required(one that takes air feed from compressor).

My paint shop was happy to give me celly as Im only ordering a litre - just doing the back end after a repair. I will be getting myself up to speed equipment wise to spray 2k next time.

Hope this is of help

Cellulose is safer to work with and will look fine if done nicely and looked after, 2k gives a harder finish with a better shine, but I wouldn't advise using it at home unless you have a full face air fed mask and the correct equipment. Any paint shop sells 2K HS solid gloss, it requires no lacquer, and is a good easy option for solid colours.
