Hi
The sidelights work fine, but the headlights don't work and the full beam only works to flash, it doesn't work when I push the stalk to make it stay on.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

could be the switch, have you got another headlamp switch to try? there is obviously power getting to the switch for it to be letting the sidelamps work. could try taking the switch apart & cleaning the contacts?

Unfortunately I don't have another switch. Is the switch easy to get out? Does it just push out? I'll try and have a go at cleaning it later to see if that's the problem. Thanks
Could that explain the full beam not working when it's supposed to stay on though?

for main beam to stay on when the indicatir switch is pushed away from you, there has to be power getting to your dipped beam on your headlamps (when the headlamp switch is on) so seems as if your switch is dodgey & there is no power getting to your headlamps. switch just pushes out from the back.

I removed the switch, it looked clean so I put it back and then neither the sidelights or the main beam would work! So had a quick look under the bonnet, made sure all the wires were "plugged in" correctly and everything seemed fine, so checked the lights again and it's back to the original problem - sidelights work, headlights don't. Really don't get this as it only passed the mot on tuesday and then the lights stop working the first time it is driven after that!

Ok I tried the wire trick and the sidelights worked but the headlights didn't. does that mean that it's a dodgy switch or could it be a wiring problem elsewhere?
