Hi guys i hope someone can help me please. I am looking to purchase a mini and replace its engine with a metro turbo lump. What i would like to know, as i am on a limited budget, is what are the minimal parts i will need. Also are there any years or models of mini which would be best to use as my base. Any other info would be greatly appreciated!! Many thanks!!

Best to find a scrap Metty Turbo with a serviceable engine - good luck!

the costs soon mount up if you have to buy bits here 'n there

Any post 84 mini with disc brakes will be as good as the next if you do a complete engine swap.

Is it goin to be worthwhile doing then or would it be more cost effective to tune a standard mini engine?

Depends what you want. Turbo bits go for silly money - you could build a nice, reliable, NA lump for a fair bit less. Search Metro/mini turbo on ebay to get an idea.

this has been covered so many times, search for old posts, there are tons of posts.
but briefly, you will need metro turbo engine, thicker fuel lines with return feed, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, bulkhead box, exhaust down pipe, new rad,
thats the minimum you need.
