Hi

I need a little work done on my car, and have just got off the phone to Steve at Sleaford Mini Centre seems like a very nice guy, and I'm going over on Sat to get quotes, and maybe booked in for a little tuning.

Does anyone have anything good, or bad to say about his work - this is the first work I'm having done on my Mini and I want it to be perfect, finding a good garage/body shop can't be an easy thing so just want people opinions.

Thanks in advance.

Our writer Jon Betts uses them all the time for his Mini stuff, so I can't imagine them being that bad, otherwise he wouldnt go back so much!!

I popped down there quite often last summer as it's only 2 minutes from home  I've always found the service very good, gave me some bits that I needed for free as well which was nice! I haven't had any work done by them but I would recommend them for customer service and for parts (ordered a new water pump and it arrived very quickly). Oh and they let me borrow some jump leads for free when my mini's battery died on my drive.

Proper mini enthusiasts who drive and race them. Large stock of second-hand parts and are willing to take time to get job done right. Rolling road is very cheap and they know their stuff when it comes to tuning. As Craig has said I deal with them a lot and always found them friendly and helpful, my advice would be to go down and see them in person and take it from there.

Well went over today to get quotes in the end, and I must say one of the cars he has just finished is fantastic, had a full front end, now mine doesn't need that much, new scuttle and a new a panel are the major bits.

Quote i got was a good price, using only gen parts. - Stated that he could/would sort out all minor problems, rear apron, slight marks on roof, and both doors, and then a full respray if I wanted.

Got some free bits too, only a mirror bracket but hey.

Think i will get work done there as a local non mini body shop near me wants almost 3x what they want.

Only bad point is saying for the work to be done... only a few months

Can't wait

If you would like a second quote then drop my buddy Dave a call at the Lincoln Mini Center on 01522 509480. He's got 18 years of experience with Mini's and will happily give you a quote.

Phil.

Blimey, is the Lincoln mini centre still there? I thought it had closed down years ago!

There was an old guy there who helped me out, I'd spent about £300 tryng to sort the emmisions on my SPI to get it to pass the MOT, went to see him and he twigged it right away, C**p supermarket petrol. A tank of Optimax and away I went.

It's moved from where it was on Tendercroft Street when the original owner John retired, but the younger guy Dave set himself up in North Hykeham. It's a bit out of the way to find buy worth it. Current projects include reassembling a 1964 Cooper S and restoring a 1996 Italian Job.

I posted him up in the "good garage" section so all the contact details are there.

Phil.

I used to work at sleaford mini centre with steve, he is a fantastic body work and mechanical guy....

I had my first mini built by him to a fantastic spec and finish! and he remmedied anything that went wrong well after the 3 month warranty he gave...

My current mini is going in there next week for a full set up and some minor jobs.

Steve has been so helpfull with anything i have needed or needed advice about!

I cant reccomend him enough and would have another car built by him in a heartbeat...

If you have seen his work then im guessing this has convinced you already, as it did me!

Jim
