I'm not sure if you do split the arch, I think most people have it so the whole arch is attached to the flip front, ie. so the arch is never attached to the A-panel. Could be wrong though!

I've seen them with spilt arches, they don't generally line up to well from what i've seen, well someone on her will have a flip front with arches i'm sure give it time they'll pipe up soon.

i was planning to cut my arches! other wise i think that if they werent attached to the a panel they would vibrate alot!

I'm planning to cut the arches on mine, but to help the location process.
The theory will be... put on flip front and fix arch as normal then cut arch at A panel seam. Where the cut is made a location tab will be added so that they slot back together...
This is all theory though !

guessworks idea sounds about right, that's what I was thinking by the time i got down to his post! as long as it's fitted and then cut it should easily line back up!

if you're gonna chop the arch in half to keep it fixed to the A panel and front you need to chop it in half first. if you fix it in place then cut it it'll spring out a bit and won't line up properly.

i'm just in the process of fitting a set of miglia arches to a flip front, the plans are to fit the arch to the front without cutting it at all, and then secure it at the back(on the A panel) with a quick release fastner.

yeah thats the way i was gonna do mine.
but seeing as its only a 2nd hand front to do me until i can afford carbon i just did em like that, the arches were grp 5 euro's that i had on it when it was roundnose, just chopped em to fit the clubby front. will be changing them when i get the carbon front as i'll be going down to 10's at the same time.
