I am having problems switching off the engine imobiliser with my fob, the mini is a 1997 1.3 i cooper. I can sometimes get it to work by pressing the left hand button several times, holding the fob up close to the dashboard. I have changed the battery in the fob it is a lithium battery (3v?) I measured the voltage of the battery with a DVM it shows about 3V. Is it a fob battery problem? any suggestions. Is it possible to purchase a spare fob, if I ever lost it or or goes kaput I am stuck.
