Ive got some conversion plates off ebay from a firm ive not heard of before.

holding them upto the car they dont seem to fit directly into the original later holes in the shell, are they ment to fit in from behind (if so ill need to remove the current light mounting brakets) or should they indeed be a flush fit ready to be butt welded? or will they require trimming?

I've got exactly the same problem, I bought a pair and they were a godawful fit. It seem that most plates will need a bit of trimming to fit.

I was advised to trim an equal amount from each side, I haven't done it yet!!

I bought hadrian ones, so theyre like a mid range quality.

Did need trimming and fettling, but to be honest, it makes no odds when your going to have to weld and fill anyway!

I basically got mine to just sit on the edges of the opening for the later lights, then tack welded them at each corner, then went round and round till it was all about filled it. This was so I didnt concentrate too much heat in one area.

i did expect them to be made to a decent standard just to be able to wel around, or atleast someone could have had the idea to joggle the edge for a flusher fit.

Looks like abit of trimming and faffing about then!

Yep ive got the hadrian ones as well

they seem a okay fit but im thinking its going to need filler anyway when shaping it up so i dont mind
