The T2 from the Renault 5 is a good match for most applications, the later units have the advantage of the water cooled core to.

A GT1752 is a really efficient turbo if you can hold of one. They use the same flange as a T2 and are also water cooled.

In the compressor side ? Is it a small threaded hole ? If so it'll most likely be the takeoff for the actuator.
