A tiny bit misleading the 310 bhp is using nos.

However without NOS he is still pulling 250 at the fly and over 200 at the wheels absolutly awesome :P . This months was a forced induction topic throughout the mag!

by the way hes only runnning a 1293! ;) which happens to be what i have just bought ;) but more on that in my project thread when i get it up to date

Yeah i know he must have some serious turbo knowledge to get up yo those figures! Best quote from the article

'A lot of the Jap performance boys talk of a sweet spot for the turbo, and ive obviously hit it with mine'

Hes not really got anything too amazing in there either. 1293 metro turbo block, +20 thou pistons, distressed con rods, toughened crank, low compression, gas-flowed head and high lift rockers and the original metro t3 turbo. Has had a custom camshaft grind but he wont mention what he had done. Obviously inercooler and oil cooler

All in all though nothing really out of the way in terms of parts but im guessing there is a bit more to it than what he told the magazine. Hes running a massive 26 psi of boost! :P

Is it a 310bhp (flywheel I'm guessing?), measured at a rolling road (using NOS or not)? Or like 250bhp measured at a rolling road, plus a 60hp shot of NOS?

Hats off though, even getting more than 200bhp is an achievement!!

Hi Chaps thanks for the comments, yes always werid photoing your self, yes yearly rebuilds are very needed! all figures quoted were measured, I have tried to drive it on that fig, believe me, but there is NO grip in any of the gears at any speed and that's with the 2.9 diff, all quite funny, but not to practical, But I didn't do it for speed, just to see what I could get really. Jeff did a super job on the words, being a car that's been around a bit now, there is only so much you can say about it, and he only has a certain space allowed for words to, I'm sure I didn't miss to much of the spec out....

Do you get much wear with the gearbox? I know the low FDs on standard cars can cause a lot of wear if you not in the right gear all the time!

Do you think this is the most you could get out of a FI A-series then?

Are you using any kind of EFI?

Hi yes, i do get wear in the Gearbox, not as much as i did before i started to use the millers oils, they have helps i'm sure.

What i have to do is replace all the bearings and the gear set and layshaft some times, other wise after one summer of use the S/C teeth start to brake off. And No i'm on a Carb.

I wouldn't say thats it for the A-series, bit it might be fore me, with my limited buget. like any thing if you know what your doing and have tons of cash you can get big figs i'm sure.

Matt intrested about the oil choice I have just switched to Valvoline 20/50 racing. I was hoping it would take the heat better since I added my SC12 charger.

I tried that, It didn't do me any favours lotsof wear (more than normal it seemed)! My advice would be to use the millers CTV 20w50.
