Gents

Im preparing my mini for body shop and I want to remove the old A-panel prior.
I have already cut off the fender, but removing the A-panel is not a straight forward.
I see that it is brazed at the top and bottom, but how does it attach vertically--where it is folded over?
Does any one have any straight forward diagrams or pics?
thanks
Sean

it just folds over and is not fixed there

remove door and it should push towards the back of the car

Well maybe on the newer cars it was just folded on there :bah:

But on the 1972s or maybe just my 72 it turned out to be spot-welded, not a big deal but I kept prying and tapping and hoping it would come sliding off...not so much

What is that piece that the A-panel is folded around called? One of mine left the building, so I have to replace or fabricate one

thanks again for help

Sean

It is folded over, and there is sometimes a couple of spot welds down the edge, as well as along the bottom where it joins the sill.
