Got I small problem with my SPI rover (98)

Something is draining the battery when IGN is off. I checked the current at the fusebox when the car was still and IGN off, keys in my pocket,
and I found current at :


B1 innerlights
B9 electric aux. fan
C4 Radio and alarm
B 6 alarmsystem and horn

So, C4 and B6 seems logic to me, but B1 and B9 ? Is this normal ?

Problems appeared when I replaced the relaybox, but it doesnt need to be linked with that.
Car runs like a dream !

Then, to my second question; to be able to start in the morning, I cut the - at the battery.
Which makes me having to restart th alarm everymorning. Could this hurt the ECU ?

I would of said that the radio needs the permenent live to keep the memory and also the alarm needs the supply because if you turned the ignition off you would turn the alarm off aswell.

If its the original rover battery then it may need replacing, batterys need to be replaced every couple of years because they wear down and start to lose their charge more quickly.

If its a 98 car then its an MPI (with radiator at the front)

Battery is new. Its a SPI, even if the engine block is an MPI, I know, its strange, but the SPI shipped abroad were SPI fitted...

found the culprit. Its the radio. Curiously the radio use a lot of power when removed from the panel (its one of those anti-theft radio).
Doesnt steal current when in place and switched off. Must be an earth / ground problem there.
So I leave the radio in place until next trip to the yearly rover service.
