hi, im just after a few tips and bits to look out for on the turbo to make sure its ok,
it seemed to run ok on the car when first put on but i want to be sure b4 i shell out and have it all put bk together again.

how much is it for a reconed one? where can i get one from?
£350 from avonbar seems a little steap.

many thanks

i think the basic check is to feel the play in the shaft running through the turbo, if there is too much play it is not ideal. although a small amount of play is acceptable and practically unavoidable on a used turbo i would imagine.
as long as it wasnt making any odd noises/ smoking a lot when running on the car, you should probably be ok.
dont take this as gospel though buddy, this is just my understanding. i'm sure one of the docs will post a better checklist if they see the post
in the mean time i hope that was of some use to you

^^ as above. and if it is goosed and you want the safety of going for a recon-turbo, look into fitting a T2, as it wil cost the same if not less and make the car much more driveable, so iv heard(nothing but praise) atlest, never driven a T2'd mini.

Yep ! Once you've driven with a T2 you'll never go back to a T3.
