Hey, I just bought one of those new Revotec electric fan kits to replace my mechanical fan. Couple of questions though. Where's the best place for the sensor that takes the temperature, I was thinking in the top hose between the thermostat and the rad? Also, where's best to take the live feed from? Straight from the fuse box?
Muchos thanks in advance.

Yea, I think most people put the sensor in the top hose.
Take it from a fused feed, so fuse box probably would be the best place. Couple of options; if I remember correctly fuses 1 and 3 are switched, fuse 2 is permanent 12V. You could take the feed from fuse 2, and then after you've turned the car off the fan will continue to operate until the coolant has cooled, which will help prevent heat soak (although I imagine it will just cool the water in the rad). Otherwise just put it on fuse 1 or 3, but check the power the fan needs isn't more than the rating of the fuse, otherwise you'll just keep popping the fuse.

even if it is cooling only the water in the rad it will be cooling the water next to the water in the rad also if stationary and no heat is being introduced.. if its stationary it should cool evenly with the fan only blowing on the rad. water mix's when heated at one end, takes a little while.
the cold end of a bath is only a few degrees diff to the hot end

Thanks guys, think I'll take the feed from fuse 1 or 3 then I can always just leave the ignition on for a bit if it's especially hot. Would be a bit worried for the battery if I couldn't turn it off myself. Any idea what the drain of the fan will be or how I can find out? Electrics aren't my fave!
