Well, not updated this in a long time. Nothing much has happened since the last time I put anything on here. Only progress is i'm slowley getting all the parts I need to build my new engine. Going to take the crank into work with me tomorrow and use the measuring equipment to find out what size main and big end bearings I need to get, then I can slowly get it built.

The plan is ;)

998 block bored +30 giving me 1023.
Dished pistons to suit bore.
12G295 head (untouched, measured chamber at 28cc)
MG Metro cam
HIF 44

built up should give me a compre3ssion ratio of around 8.5:1

Then all I have to do is find a suitable super charger to bolt on

Well the engine build has taken a little back seat for the minute. After all the recent bad weather i ended up with a really wet carpet. Upon inspection I found that the drivers foot well was doinf a cheese grater impression.

So 2 new front floors were bought at Bingley.

Reminded myself why I hate bitumen, shame to have to cut out the floor as most of it was in fantastic condition. It's only where some muppet in the mini's past has used the front floors as jacking points.

The drivers footwell is all but out, just need to go get a spot weld drill and then get on with welding the new one in.

Quick update to the story,

Finished the drivers floor. Not perfect but i'm happy and it should hopefully see me through a few more years of mini motoring.

I've never really been happy with the front end since putting the fiberglass on so made the decision to go back to steel. A quick call to M Machine on tuesday afternoon saw these turn up at my door today.

Have to say M Machine were fantastic. Would definitly reccomend them, and I will use them for anything else I need.

Cheers Craig, i'm hoping to get it sorted and looking better for the Riv Run. Got a few rust patches i'd also like to sort out. Just in front of the rear wheel arches. It might look like a black patchwork quilt but hopefully be reletivly rust free.

Hmmm, trip to a paintshop me thinks. Might have to get some door skins at the end of the month to. Think I can get the decals from Idle Gear, could have it looking really good for the Riv Run then.

Wow, have really not updating this in a while.

Finally going to get around to building the engine. All I need to get is a gasket set, the shells and thrust washers, oil pump and timing chain then I can get building.

Watch out for pics over the next couple of weeks.
