I have bought a second hand set of Spax dampers. When I adjust the dampers ant-clockwise they hit a stop, but they will just keep turning clockwise.

Also, when turning clockwise should the dampers get harder to compress? I wind them clockwise for a number of turns but don't seem to get any harder.
