Did you replace the plastic knuckle cup or just leave the old one in the arm? It is best to have the gaitor fitted to the cup before you fit it into the arm because this is a nightmare. It can be done though, and you really should get the gaitor fitted. The knuckle won't last long without it. Try to get the rear part of it (closest to the arm shaft) fitted under the cup rim first, hold that in place with a small screwdriver and then rotate the knuckle pin in a large circle. It should push the gaitor ahead of it and you can clip it under as you go. This is how I do it when I have to do it on the car, it will be easier for you as it's not fitted. You'll be best off with the arm in a vice.

There is something wrong with the disc, it should be much closer to the hub than that.

It seems that you are another person who has taken the easy option of fitting the front tie rod bolt into the bottom arm from below! PLEASE correct this, it is dangerous. It is part of the design of the suspension that this bolt is fitted from above so that if the nut comes adrift while you are driving the bolt cannot fall out. As in your other thread, my apologies if it's just the photo making it look like this.

Regarding the rubber, I turn it inside out then fold it over the cup a bit at a time.
works for me. :w00t:

Good spot, yeah I agree. If the nut comes loose the bolt will drop out and the tie bolt will seperate from the bottom arm. The wheel will fold back into the arch, You will loose all steering and most likely have a nasty accident. Please swap the bolt over

This bolt needs to be installed in the opposite direction that you have done it (so the nut is on the other side)

Can I ask... how you got that old knuckle out of the top arm? I have my front subframe off, and am trying to replace the knuckles, got the top arms and cones out from the tower, but am a bit stuck trying to get the knuckle and alloy trumpet off the top arm itself?
