Has her indoors been talking to you? .. LOL

Well! my beloved Mini 30, has come out of its hibernation period with vengence!!!

I bought this car new in 1989, sold it in 1992 when a little git arrived, and then tracked it down a few years ago. In the last four years the car has had thousands lavished on it, some money though was totally wasted, I hasten to add!

Since October last year when it was taken off the road, I have changed the A panels and one door skin, hand blocked every panel then I resprayed it in base coat black and laquer.

The 2007 engine was a 1380, it went well but was never "quite" right, always a tate smokey. So Guessworks had the complete engine / gearbox unit delivered to his door a few months back, with a simple request - make it as quick as yours.

Yesterday was D Day, a shiny engine was strapped into the boot of his car, we craned it out, and fitted it to the car, all was going well till my landlord of my unit got rather irritated about the noise the car was making ( well it was getting quite late at this stage). It was all fitted and running so we called it a day.

Today, I fitted the bonnet, grille and number plates, and off it stuttered up the farm track to the main road, a tate sluggish I thought, then it hit 4500 RPM, I nearly had a bowel movement!

John, all I can say it is god dam awesome! ............. As you stated further up this thread it is scary.

For the people who asked the spec, and Guessworks will no doubt correct me, it is a 1380, 286 cam, ported head, a Guessworks diff and gearbox. orange clutch, a lightened flywheel, Hi - Los, negative camber kit at the rear, adjustable front bits, Gaz adjustable shockers.

I will now go off for a complete suspension set up this week, then go for a RR session. All I need now is to get rid of the DTM, as I like that "original" look!!!

Last but no least ... A Big Thank you to Guessworks!

PS.........According to the wife all that lot cost about £250 including the respray!!
