hi there,

wonder i anyone could give me a rough esitmate to how much it would cost me to repair my car,

bassically got hit on the drivers rear, hit the tail lamp, which has been pushed in on the rear pannel at the bottom,

dented the boot,
smashed the fog,
bent the bumper,
creased the boot floor
and the rear pannel on the car is bent up around the boot hinge/ tail lamp area,

does anybody in the trade know what kinda price im going to be looking at so i can present the idiot with a rough idea.

thanks in advance,

ian

pictures up tomorrow

mine cost £2500 to sort out. most accident repair places will replace panels rather than straightening them out, so that price included labour, a month of storage for a mini sitting on a jig with half of it missing while a complete rear panel was sourced, a new fuel tank, lights etc.
some might be cheaper but i'd budget around £1750 to £2k - could be less, could be more than that depends on how bad it is, and if the panels can be straightened out/repair panels used. if it goes through insurance, try and milk it for what its worth, i managed to get a new subframe and a couple of other bits replaced at the same time.

If you're doing it outside the insurance then you would probably need to budget as above.

If you go through the insurance they will undoubtedly write it off as the boot floor is creased. If you have it insured properly (ie agreed value policy), then you may get away with keeping it and having it repaired.

Good luck.

Can't really tell without seeing it, but if the boot floor could be pulled, you'd be looking at about a grand all in.

mine cost around £2300 for boot floor replacement, new rear valence, new rear quarter, boot lid, bumper, tail light, custom decals, prep and respray of the whole rear.

£2300 included cost of all parts, labour and paint.

its all fully comp but not agreed value,

problem is its on a value of 2k so a price like that its likely to get wrote off. :P
