i thought about doing this but then i thought, who would actually want to sit down and watch me drive for 2 hours with nothing to hear but the road noise lol!

i think most people would switch it off after 10 mins of being stuck in mini traffic...

Sounds great, I'll try to remember the reg, and we'll be waving at all the Minis anyway! :)

We waved at every one we saw on the way to Newquay (and back) this weekend!!

Yeah, im gunna edit it and add some music, make a kinda L2B montage, the best bits!
Did a test run around my estate and it actually came out really well, only trouble is, 3 mins ended up being 89MB!!
Might have to do some compression
Will try and upload the test run onto youtube and post the link on here.

Anyone know of any freebie download ones?

Well there is http://media-convert.com/ which is a free online converter, as for free software that you can instal there is none to my knowledge. That site worked for me though. I use winAVI convert which costs but does a good job, and it lets you convert to DVD.

Managed to convert it and compress it with windows movie maker
First successful test run, the quality is much better on the original as some quality was lost when the video was uploaded but heres the link

Thought it would be easier to post it on YouTube
Was doing about 35-40mph round that long left corner and if you listen you can hear the tyres squealing!!

Are you sure that was bolted to a Mini, it's rather smooth :owned:

Maybe play around with the camera mounting to get some more varied footage - windscreen height to catch the faces of occupants?

You can get a plug in for Quicktime to convert between vid formats too for about a tenner.

Was definately on a mini!!
Will maybe try it later on with a bit of tape over the mic!
It's an oregon scientific action cam (google it!)
I borrowed it from a friend's uncle who drives a 470 BHP passat! the second fastest FWD car in europe apparently!
He does a lot of track days.
Took it for a longer test yesterday but it cut out after 5 mins (waste of petrol as i was driving around for about 20 mins!)
It was attached to the bumper because it makes it look faster (998)!
Expertimented with where to put it but it only has a velcro strap so limited on where i can attach it to. i tried it on the door handle but all you see is the front seam and the wheel arch!
Can't get it to it securely on the mirror because i got bullets and dont really want to put it inside the car.
I was considering loosening off the wheel arch and slipping the strap in behind it but again, not sure how secure it'l be
Might have to get a few of the good ol' zip ties!
I will try to get a pic of how it is attached later today.

...end of essay
