ok ive searched for this and cant find it, sooooooooooo i wish to turn my rubbish sound system of 2 tiny bedroom speakers into 2 6 by 9s and 4 component speakers with 4 tweekers , however currently i only have 2 wires. i do not wish to add an amp as i dont really want much bass and i cant be doing with all the wires and the extra cost. (plus the component speaks are self amped anywhere and the 6 by 9s will only be cheap ones so if i did have an amp on them they would probly blow. so the questions i need answering are below

1. will there be 2 holes in the back of my head unit for an extra 2 speaker cables?

2. is it possible to just slit a wire and thred another wire into it turning the single speaker cable into 2 speak cables or is there like a little connection part for this?

3. or is it impossible or would just sound pants and masewell buy a cheap amp?

many fanx simon

There should be 8 cables on the back of the H/U.

Front Right + & -
Front Left + & -
Rear Right + & -
Rear Left + & -

2. is it possible to just slit a wire and thred another wire into it turning the single speaker cable into 2 speak cables or is there like a little connection part for this?

You can daisy chain speakers, which reduces the load. Making a 4ohm speaker 2ohm for example. Many people do this when they put 6x9's in the rear shelf, they just tap into the wires of the factory speakers.

3. or is it impossible or would just sound pants and masewell buy a cheap amp?

It'll sound better with an amp, but it all depends on how much money you want to spend and whether you enjoy quality sounding music.

Is this the sort of setup your after?

1. yes there are two holes to allow speakers wire

2. yes u can splice into a wire and run another wire from it

3. u can do all the above and u could get an amp if u don't like how it sounds get a cheap 1 off flebay

hope this helps

Well no surprise - home audio runs at 8ohms, car audio at 4ohms........... that's for starters.

2 6 by 9s and 4 component speakers with 4 tweekers :owned: ,
1) Tweeters. 2) Amp doesn't = bass. Amp = better sound, and louder. You say you don't want extra wires, but happily want 10 speakers....... 3) Same budget, 1 pair of components amped will trash 2 pairs of un-amped comps any day.

By running 3 pairs sets of speakers off of the head unit, which is designed to run just 2 pairs will lower the impedance and fry the head unit's internal amplifier.
