I recently had 2 brand new Falcon 165/60x12 tyres fitted to the front wheels of my Mini. I've had Falcons on there for years but although their 165/60 tyres, their not directional like the older types I still have fitted to the rear.
Instead their branded inside and outside on each tyre wall.
So has Falcon changed their spec or have I ordered the wrong ones? My old Falcon tyres are branded Falcon G, where as these aren't.

There are two types of Falken tyres in 165/60R12 size - the FK06G (directional) and the ZE912 (asymmetric). It looks like the ZE912 is a newer design. The 'Inside' and 'Outside' markings are because of the asymmetrical design - the grooves in the tyre being designed to shift water in a particular direction.

Thanks for the reply, so does it matter that I have the directional on the back at the moment and the assymetric on the front?
Out of the two designs, which are the better though?

I have a set of new falcons on the front of mine, there branded on both sides and I feel their road holding is better and the wet driving characteristics are far superior. Just a matter of opinion though.

Got a full set fitted now and so far so good even in the wet.
Either way their a big improvement over the directional Falcons.

Just as well considering how poor they were on wet roads.
