It's still registered as a 1980 mini clubman convertible!!!!!
It was a hand built project, originally designed to be towed behind a motorhome. The chassis is made from steel box tubing, with the subframes attached in such a way as to enable you to unbolt them with two spanners (a lot of planning went into this on the rear subframe), and the front towers bolt through tubes welded to the inside of the chassis rails.
The rubber bushes here have perished a bit so I am replacing them with alloy ones, it's not as though noise reduction is an issue, a K&N on the intake and a straight through exhaust mean that Scampie is never going to be quiet, lol.
It has a few L2B and various other run stickers on it, none since 2003 so I guess thats probably the last time it was on the road. The guy I got it from was going to get it going for the run to Newquay the other week, but decided to concentrate on his Elf instead.
I want to get it on the road for either august or septembers Ace Cafe meet.
