The guy that built it certainly had an eye for it. I just hope when I mod the front a bit I can soften it a bit to match the back end more.

I might leave it on the drum brakes for now, until I have the MOT done, then change them at my leisure later. Still got to pick up a set of spats to cover the tyres and butcher a Defender grill to cover where I cut the front panel open so I could reach the dizzy and oil filter easily.

Got to get the two wings I have cut bent to fit around the front wings I have on the car. just need access to an anvil, which I have at work, lucky me. Now if someone can distract the metalsmith for ten minutes, lol.
Hopefully I can crack on with both cars next week, probably going to get Scrappy sprayed profesionally, not sure I could get the finish I'd be happy with if I did it myself.

I am still trying to strip and rebuild the disks and hubs I got for the front end, they came with the inner parts of the inner pot joints still attached to the drive shafts. One came off easily enough with the aid of a vice, a modified huge flat headed screw driver and a tap from a BFH, but the other side is being a pain, it just doesn't want to shift. (Que me getting annoyed and missing the screwdriver, whacked thumb, and big bruised nail and lots of colourful language)
Now I have got it round a friends who has popped the stainless cap from the end and is going to put it into a press, that should shift the little bugger.
Once I have this done, the drums can come off of the front and the disks go on, and I'll be able to stop again. (The drums do work, but blimey I'd forgotten the difference between them and disks, lol)
I have also got a pair of front seats from a Fiat Puto to replace the ones currently fitted. I found them in a scrapper we were loaned for an open day, we were going to crush it anyway so it seemed a shame to waste them. I am going to get a set of water resistant covers for them and make an adaptor for the subframes then they should fit nicely and they hold me snug so no more sliding around the seat when I turn.
I'll get a few more pics next week.

I'm still trying to decide what seats to put in mine, I want ease of getting in and out with comfort, but I don't want to have my passenger ending up on my knee (well most of the time, there are always exceptions).

When I turned them upside down, they had a steel plate and springs for the diaphram, I say had because on both seats it had rusted away, no wonder my bum sank so far into them. They are now in the skip, after I stripped off the hand made subframes.
To replace them, I have two seats from the front of a 5 door Fiat Punto from 1995, comfy, not too big, and the best bit, completely free, lol.
After rubbing down and painting the subframes, I have to drill new mounting holes for the seats and bolt them together, then it's a case of sanding and painting the floor, and bolting it all back in.

Got someone who will chop and weld the base to lower it by three inches, then I need to move it an inch towards the center of the car so I can move it back without it pushing against the roll hoop.
I also had to clear the garage at work out, so got a few picks of both projects together out in the sun, Scampie and Scrappy.

Got to pull out the drivers seat, lift the ply floor and then use that as my template for my new floor. I've got new seat bases now so once the floor is in I can remount the seats, re-attach the handbrake and gear stick, then that should be it!!
MOT time!!!!!!
(Oh, and ring around for insurance, that will be fun, not)

Got the seats in, floor done, belts in and anchored down, arch lips done from a couple of Ripspeed universal mudflaps chopped about to cover the tyres...
Then, already for the dreaded test today,,,,,,, NO HEADLIGHTS!!!!!! The indicator stalk decided to fall to pieces on me as I was running through the pre test checks, so it's off again until I can get a new one from Minispares on monday.
Will we make the Ace Cafe meet on thursday???
I flippin hope so.
