Hello People,

I have just purchased my first mini, a John Cooper 40 LE  , but a HPI check on it shows that it has a colour change >_<. This is bizzare given that it is meant to be a limited edition (Brooklands Green + White paintwork + red leather interior). I have checked the paint code (next to the chassis no.) and that checks out ok, but was wondering if anyone has any idea how i know whether it really is a Limited Edition model or weather i have been ripped off? If any one knows where i can get a trim code key, that may also prove useful.

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

If it's a JCG conversion then you will have a certificate.... without that you've got little chance.

Hi the jc le did not have a build plate as it was a standard 63BHP lump. A lot of coopers show as colour change because originally on the V5 it shows as multicoloured as it has a white roof some owners when re taxing notify DVLA of the actual body colour eg green thus generating a colour change flag. Hope this helps.

Yes my Cooper Sport was orginally registered as Blue/Silver however DVLA made me change it to multi coloured. .

Standard John Cooper LEs from Rover dealer were a small production run although not uncommon, John Cooper Garages did tinkered with some John Cooper LEs and their numbers are very limited. I am afraid I havent got the numbers of each produced though.

300 John Cooper LEs were produced and 25 converted by John Cooper Garages
