its all pretty much straight forward dude.

just make sure you use grommets where needed and try not to catch the loom on any bits of metal as you pull it through. its a lot easier with an assistant. took me and a mate about 3hrs to take my burnt loom out and replace.

we also changed the fuse box to a blade type aswell while we were at it, and re-wired most of my dash/stereo etc.

take the old one out... but before you put the new one in, lable the ends as it saves having to keep refering back to the wiring diagram.

Also lay out the loom infront of the car first just to get you head round it's shape..

other than that it's a piece of piddle

When I did mine, I cleaned the new loom with white spirits, then un-taped it a section at a time and re-taped it with new tape and changed all the old connectors. It took a while to do, but made it look nicer and also easyer to re-fit.

As others have said, label all the wires as you disconnect them (both on the old loom and on what they connect to). I think you would be better off with new connectors if you're talking about a loom with the old bullet connectors. When you take these off, use ScotchBrite or steel wool to clean the old male bullets and coat them with dielectric grease or vaseline when you put the new loom and connectors in place. This goes a long way to preventing corrosion in the future.
