Hey

Just got some newish alloys, but I need new nuts as my old ones dont fit.
They are Minilite/rover style alloys, and I want to make sure I get the right nuts.
There are no markings on the alloys, but below is a rough idea of what the holes are like.

So what nuts do I get?
Any ideas?

Cheers

Probably these - http://www.minispare....aspx?pid=34224

The best thing would be to call in with the wheel if you can.

If you can't take the wheel, try cleaning one of the holes and pushing modelling clay in to get an impression.

Do your alloys have steel inserts in the sockets?

Excuse for the hijack but are all tapers 60 deg?
What's the significance of straight taper and domed taper?

AFAIK

Domed taper is as fits the original steel wheel and the 60 deg tapers are as the later pattern wheels. I'd guess domed tapers are easier 'n stronger when pressing steel in to wheels. As you pointed out: a taper nut would be too much for a plain alloy wheel, hence the tube nuts or steel inserts.

Hi

Thanks for the replys.

Teapot - there are no steel inserts in the alloys.

Ethel - they were the ones I was thinking would fit, standard Rover Cooper 8 spoke nut.

Unfortunatly I cant take the wheels to Minispares.

If anyone has standard Rover Cooper 8 spoke Wheels/nuts, are your holes the same as mine?

Cheers
