Update time.

After putting the driveshaft in the wrong side >_< (I didn`t know they were different lengths) and having to order a new CV joint I now have something to show for a lot of prep work.

Sorted the swivel joints and put the hub on the correct drive shaft

I then put everything else on, I just need to torque up the hub nut and put a split pin in it now

Cheers

Dave

Hi Dave,

Never noticed you had a thread on here.

Lovely mini mate, nice finish on the bodywork and also on the engine, mines needs a bit of a polish on the alloy parts because it's been sat there so long now haha.

Will be real nice when it's done and good luck with the wiring!

Cheers
Chris

Cheers for the comments guys, much appreciated.

Yeah I'm not looking forward to wiring Chris, I might have a look at it this weekend actually, I've got the back loom all in so that's a start.

I`ve had quite a productive weekend :D

First job was to sort the swivels on the hub, regrease and then throw it all on. Feels like a big achievement that she could sit on her wheels if she had some >_< 12x5 Anthracite superlights to be ordered soon.

Posted Image

Next on the list was to sort the handbrake, once that was sorted I was able to torque up the rear hub nuts and put the split pins in. Rear drums with caps on:

I also got the pedal box in and bolted the accelerator pedal in. The clutch is now all sorted after I put the master cylinder on and the new clutch lever arm I ordered arrived. I then sorted some of the wiring out, got it the right way round and got it in the car, only had white silicon to seal the plate but I`ll get it off when its hardened.

I hope to get more done this week.

Cheers for looking

Cheers mate.

Had another afternoon on it today, not a good one though. I`ve got some old style front indicators (not the twin screw type) finally found some bullets for the wires, sorted that just about and just gone to fit one and the 3 tiny screws don`t line up with the holes in the wing O_O

Also thought I`d try the carpet set I bought last year to see if I can fit the steering column, no hole for that and no hole or slit for the gear stick >_< Did get the gear stick fitted with the roll pin in yesterday though.

Another thing that I hope somebody can shed some light on, I`ve replaced the inner wings with genuine panels and there seems to be no hole for the side repeater wiring

Anyone got any ideas?

Many thanks

Dave

Managed to get the headlining in this weekend, not a nice job

Posted Image

Sorted the issue with the side repeaters, found a small hole near the bulkhead in the inner wings so we chopped the wires and fed them through a small grommet back into the engine bay and then reconnected the wires. Also got a some wiring connected up in the engine bay.

Thanks for looking

Dave

I`ve been busy the past couple of days, I`ve got most of the carpet in, the front one is not sitting great so I think I need to glue it down the the tunnel as its sitting up far too much. I was going to do it today but realised the reversing light switch on the gear change is missing a wire so need to sort that and route the cable first.

I decided then to put the clocks in. I am going to get a walnut dash in it at some point so at the moment its just a case of getting everything in and working.

Posted Image

Oh and one more thing

Posted Image

:D I am made up with them and how they look, I thought maybe the anthracite centres might make the car look too dark but I really like it.

Cheers

Thanks Hugh, that's the way mate got to keep thinking of the finished car and how much fun its going to be. There have been times I've been tempted to throw the towel in but I am so glad I didn't now.
