Righg then time for an update as I`ve had some prgress lately.

I have welded in the hinge panel

Posted Image

Also got a corner repair panel in and ground the welds down. They still need a bit more but its getting there

I bought a non genuine rear quarter panel with the idea of see how it fits, if its not great then just use the bit where the window sits as thats the problem with the one on the car atm. For a non gen panel I`m quite surprised at how it fits so today I made a big hole:

Will split all the seams in the next couple of days and then see how it really fits :(

I had a go at splitting the seams today, managed to split the arch to rear quarter easily enough and also split the one where the window sits:

I did find a nasty surprise in the rear bin though:

Has anybody got any tips on how to split the vertical seam by the door?? I don`t want to make a mess of it.

looking good mate, I havnt got the confidence to give something like this a go! lol

A quick tip for welding.. when you're going in a line zigzag up and down a bit, gives a much better weld

Oh right cheers, will give it a go. Seems great welding new metal but spits a bit on the old stuff.

Only one way to get confidence is to give it a go

Had an hour in the garage this morning before I go to work. Managed to split the seam that runs inside where the door shuts:

Just need to tidy it all up and split the rq to rear panel seam and then I can fit the new rear quarter.

Yea, if you weld old metal, grind it as much as possible without wearing it thin etc to get a clean area to weld on!

Right then, Ive been having some fun and games recently. Decided that the sills needed doing do cut into the oversill to find this lot :)

Posted Image

I should be receiving two inner and outer sills from minispares tomorrow along with a few other things. I have cut most of the rust out now just want to get the new one`s before I go any further. I`ve already put a floor pan in the front so I`m using a inner sill repair panel to go from the cross member to to the heel board.

Tonight I`ve been messing around with the door that was repaired, the filler still needs some work but its getting there.

Oh and the rear quarter doesn`t fit as well as I first thought so thats going to be fun to fit :)

Thanks for looking, any comments more than welcome.

Looks wicked in the first picture! Shame nice paint and oversills hide all that rust!

How's it going now? What colour do you have planned when it's all rust free? >_<

Well I`m finally back at it after about 6 months off, enjoying it again so its all good, hopefully make progress pretty quickly. I`m going with grey and black as it was before but I haven`t quite decided on the shade yet.

Cheer mate. I had some bits hidden by filler but not that much to be fair. How are you getting on with yours?

Well this week I`ve been back in the garage now its warmed up a bit, I found some motivation and set myself a target of 3 months to get the bodywork pretty much complete.

I`ve mainly been tidying bits up where it has developed little bits of surface rust over the winter and on getting the inner sill sorted:

Need to weld some plates on the outer sill then that can go on. Anyone know why there are holes either end of the outer sill? Its a genuine panel. Not using the jacking point so going to plate over that as well.

I also tidied up the rear bin before I put the rear quarter panel in:
