Driving lil eddie back from the garage, with repaird steering!!!

When i stopped, it felt like there was a strange mysterious force pulling the car along... :P

I then found changing gear dificult, with the occasional grind, and a very funny feeling clutch pedal! When i stoped at some light further on, with clutch pedal flat on the floor, the car stalled.

Congratulations... I have no Clutch!

So i started the car in 1st gear, :nugget: and drove the lil bugger home, with 15-20 cars following me at 15 mph in 1st.

Ofcourse no cluctch, means no stopping, so i could not stop at red lights, so i had to pull up to them really slowly. Of the three sets, i stopped at one, the most busy one :nugget:

I restarted the car in 1st, and drove the car to the Henreys Table Pub in leybourne, a short walk from my house, avoiding having to stop, to pull right rom the main road to my lane.

Eddie was later returned, when the roads were quieter.

Now i got to fix/get it fixed! Ive been told Master cylinder or something ;)

Oh Joy... :nugget:

Look for the pools of brake fluid, that usually gives it away, also check that the slave and the pushrod for the clutch are still connected... could be something as simple as a split pipe..

Wouldn't be suprised if the garage have knocked or disconected something while they were changing the rack.

lol, it felt funny last wednesday night, when we went driving down the lanes, fast ehem.

I didnt get to drive it thurs morn tho, as the rack went then.

Pinch bolt was non existant on the steering, so it was replaced, however, the rack still nocks so im going to annother garage, to get a rack change. They didnt even road test it ;)

hmmm...the o/s front subframe tower bolt, which requires some gorilla-ing to undo, is quite near the clutch m/c + rigid pipe isnt it....and they have may lowered the subframe a little to do the rack. hmmmmmmm.... i thought only i could be that ham-fisted but you never know
Also I dont want to get you worried but changing the clutch m/c is not one of the most pleasant jobs in the world. Also if you do get one make sure its a good item, i recently bought one and the end of the pushrod where the fork is broke off 10 mins after id installed it....grrrrrrrrrrr ;)
In any case worth diagnosing properly, i recently replaced ALL my hydraulics when in fact it was my bleed tube that was duff, duuuh, you dont want the hassle if its something simple like guessworks says.

I once drove 50 odd miles home from blackpool with no clutch, its amazing how you can change up if you get the revs right! just don't try to change down the gearbox don't like it!
